August 1638: at the request of M. de l’Sale, lieutenant-governor of Montmagny, Jean was called to take inventory of the wearing of apparel of Guillaume Casenauque.
12 October 1639: witness to marraige of Francois Druet & Perinne Godin
11 November 1639: auction of belongings of Guillaume Hebert, son of Louis, the first Canadian farmer
1649: was living in Champlain on Saint-Anne Street near the warehouse of 100 Associates
28 January 1650: Godfather of Mathurine Pachirini,daughter of an Algonquin chief
6 Jun 1651: Jean was granted a homestead by the Jesuits. t measured two arpents by twenty, bordering the river in the seigneury of Cap-de-la-Madeline. The seigneury de Gentilly was officially created on 14 Aug 1676. At that time it had grownto two-and-a half leagues of frontage along the river in Cap-de-la-Madeleine.
8 June 1651: Gun exploded during procession of the Blessed Sacrament & shattered his arm, & was taken to the hospital in Quebec for several months
